COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho. -- The Diamond Cup races Labor Day weekend were bringing in extra customers for local businesses.

Employees at restaurants, pubs, and stores downtown said customer traffic had been non-stop during the hydro races.

“It’s been nice seeing people down the streets and in and out of the businesses downtown,” said Amy Wilson, supervisor at Crickets Restaurant.

Wilson said the restaurant planned a special event Saturday night to take advantage of the extra people in town for the Diamond Cup.

The hydro races were scheduled through Sunday.
