SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.--- Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a weekend assault at a Spokane Valley restaurant.
Deputies say it happened at 11:15 pm Saturday, February ninth, at the Thai Way Lounge at Fancher and Broadway.
Initial information was that a male subject was punched in the parking lot and was unconscious.
Witnesses told deputies it appeared the person who was punched instigated the incident. They said a man leaving the lounge saw a fight between the victim and another man. When he told the victim to stop assaulting the person, the victim approached the man in what witnesses described as a threatening manner.
Witnesses say the man punched the victim in apparent self defense, then left the scene. The victim is currently in a local medical facility.
Major Crimes detectives want to speak with the man who punched the victim. He left the scene in a silver or gold-colored Chrysler, possibly a 300 series. Anyone with information should contact Detective Kirk Keyser at (509) 477-6611.
