DEER PARK, Wash.-- Packages and mail piling up at a home in Deer Park prompted a 911 call that revealed a homicide.
Detectives identified the woman found dead in her home Saturday as 42-year-old Chanin Starbuck.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner's office tells KREM 2 that Chanin Starbuck died from asphyxia due to compression of the neck. Her death is now being investigated as a homicide.
Starbuck is a recently divorced mother of five children between the ages of 10 and 21.
Detectives said there were no obvious signs of trauma and they're looking at other suspicious circumstances they are not willing to discuss at this point.
Authorities have not made an arrest in the case.
