SPOKANE, Wash.-- The Department of Natural Resources said dozens of new fire incidents were reported across the Inland Northwest after a thunder and lightning storm struck Monday night. Crews continued to fight the largest of the fires Tuesday in Okanogan Co.
Authorities said 55 new incidents were reported in Spokane, Stevens, Ferry, Pend Oreille, and Okanogan Counties. Some were false alarms, some were smoke, and others were fires according to DNR. Authorities said the largest was a 600 acre fire along Stokes Road in Okanogan County.
DNR officials said it did not appear that any structures were in danger on Tuesday.
