SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane County criminals are behind a new scamming technique at local ATM machines, according to the sheriff’s office.

They have hit two machines recently.

Deputies say the criminals super glue the cancel button so transactions cannot be completed. Many of the machines have a short time delay before storing debit cards. If a victim leaves before the machine stores the card, it’s possible for a suspect to get the card or withdraw money.

Anyone who experiences an issue like this is urged to tell their bank immediately.
