SPOKANE, Wash. -- A fire grew out of control when a man was trying to keep warm Tuesday morning.
It started just after 11 a.m. at a duplex at Princeton and Nevada.
The fire department says a man was house-sitting for his friend in jail. The unit’s electricity and utilities had been turned off and the man started the fire to keep warm. The flames grew out of control and spread up the chimney.
The fire spread to a wall, but crews stopped it from going farther.
No one was injured.
