SPOKANE, Wash. -- Crews have been working this summer on changes Riverfront Park’s Skyride.
The gondolas are being upgraded to accommodate the weather. As of August 26, they were almost done.
When it gets too hot in the summer, the Skyrides often have to close down during peak hours for the park. Crews have developed and installed a vent style system that cools the cabins down six degrees compared to the temperature outside.
The park’s assistant manager said this enhances the guest comfort and experience while allowing them to extend the ride’s operating hours.
“We really fell this will increase revenue considerably and once again give those guests the opportunity to see the best of Spokane,” said Assistant Manager Debby Dodson.
Some of the newly upgrade cabins are already in service.
