POST FALLS-- A new Wal-Mart opened this week near Stateline, Idaho. It’s drawing hundreds of customers, but a major construction project nearby means a detour for some.
On Friday the parking lot at Wal-Mart was packed with many people saying they hoped to take advantage of grand opening specials. But if you are coming from Washington, you cannot take the Appleway Bridge to get to the new Wal-Mart because it is under construction. The bridge running over the Spokane River serves as a major access point to businesses in the Post Falls Area. Most of the customers KREM 2 News spoke with say they did not experience any major traffic problems getting to Wal-Mart.
The Post Falls chief of police has expresses concern about there being only one entrance and exit on the Seltice and Baugh Way. This is only the third day the new Wal-Mart has been open. The Appleway Bridge project is expected to last until the summer of 2012.
