SPOKANE, Wash. -- Construction will close one of the roadways to South Hill in Spokane starting Monday, May 6th.
City leaders announced Wednesday that Ray Street will be closed at 23rd for two weeks. A detour will take drivers to Freya Street.
Construction crews will be working on a water main. Leaders said the work is happening because of
the replacement of the Lincoln Heights Booster Station. The station helps deliver water to buildings on the upper South Hill.
The new station will be much more energy efficient than the existing 80-year-old station according to Spokane leaders. The $1.8 million booster station project is being funded by City of Spokane Water Department.
