SPOKANE – Spokane’s skyline is changing with the construction with a new hotel across from the Spokane Convention Center. Now, there are plans to connect both buildings with a skywalk.
The hotel’s developer suggested a skywalk from the hotel’s second floor to the convention center. The Spokane Public Facilities Executive Director/CEO Kevin Twohig said a skywalk lines up with the future vision of the Spokane Convention Center, too.
“This is a huge competitive advantage for Spokane, not only to have the new convention center space, which is coming along great…but also to have these new hotel rooms attached to the convention center,” Twohig said. “This is gonna put us way up in the market from where we are now.”
Planners will show some of the preliminary designs and open up the conversation for public comment on the proposed skywalk at a community meeting Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center, room 205.
