Spokane – The Colville Indian tribe is asking for state and federal assistance after storms ripped through the area Friday afternoon.
Several homes in the Keller area suffered damage. Much of the town is without power, and expects to remain with electricity for several days. Emergency crews, police and EMT’s are helping the elderly and people living in isolated areas.
Roads in other areas including Inchelium, Nespelem, and Omak were significantly damaged. There are many downed trees and power lines across the reservation.
Officials are getting hourly reports on the extent of the damage in each of the districts of the reservation.
