SPOKANE, Wash.-- Gonzaga University students were asked to break tradition and stay home Tuesday night, instead of camping out for an upcoming basketball game.
Students often camp out the day before a big game to claim front row seats for basketball games. Late Tuesday, GU campus security sent out a mandate saying no one could sleep in the tents outside the McCarthey Athletic Center due to extremely cold temperatures.
Campers were told they could return to the tents by 7 a.m. Wednesday morning if they wished to do so.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs are scheduled to take on the Brigham Young University Thursday night.
