WORLEY, Idaho -- The Executive Chef at the Coeur d'Alene Resort and Casino won a national contest on Monday to help him open his dream restaurant.
A panel of judges announced Adam Hegsted as the winner after receiving the majority of online votes. They said they loved Hegsted's plan for a tapas restaurant featuring locally sourced ingredients.
Hegsted won $20,000 to help open his restaurant. His prize earnings will help pay for the design work and marketing concept for a new place.
Hegsted, a “foodie at heart”, heads up all eight restaurants at the resort. He literally transformed each one since he started on the job years ago.
There is no time limit for when Adam has to use his prize. He says it may not happen right away, but he definitely has big plans in works to someday open his dream restaurant.
