Spokane -- The Spokane City Council unanimously voted to approve Frank Straub as the Director of Law Enforcement Monday night.
Straub cannot officially be named the new Police Chief until he meets some state law enforcement requirements.
Straub defended his experience and training as a commissioned federal agent during Monday’s City Council meeting. He got the endorsement of the Lieutenant's and Captain's Association to be director of law enforcement on Friday.
Straub’s tentative start date is next Monday.
