SPOKANE -- The ongoing musicians strike will not stop the Spokane Symphony’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

Organizers say Christmas Tree Elegance 2012 is on even if the musicians it benefits are still on strike.

The fundraiser, produced by the Spokane Symphony Associates, kicks off Wednesday, November 28th at two locations: The Davenport Hotel and the second floor corridor at River Park Square Mall.  The fundraiser runs through December 9th.

People decorate trees in different themes and then auction them off.

The fundraiser is celebrating its 30th year. $1 raffle tickets may be purchased individually or in blocks of 25 that are registered in the buyer’s name.

Winners receive a themed Christmas tree along with gifts and cash.

The musicians went on strike November 2nd over contract disputes. Regardless how the negotiations turn out, the money raised will go into the symphony’s budget.
