SPOKANE, Wash.—A car wash and raffle, organized by students at Evergreen Elementary School, raised more than $1,000 Saturday for the families of two girls involved in a fatal car wreck.

The same crash that killed 10-year-old Gracie Snider left her soccer teammate, 10-year-old Ayla James critically injured. James was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

James’ friends at Evergreen Elementary School wanted to start a benefit for the girls’ families. Friends and families collected donations and raffled off items during the car wash.
