GEORGE, WA. -- Grant County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a masked man who was run over by a vehicle after witnesses say he tried to break into a home.

Monday night around 6:20 p.m., deputies say two men went to their home near 19000 Road 6 SW, and found two people attempting to run from the house, and a masked man standing by a car in the driveway.

Deputies say the homeowner ran over the masked man. The buglars fired shots at the men, and one of them returned fire with a personal firearm. No one was hit, but deputies say six rounds were exchanged.

Deputies found a stolen .22 handgun at the scene, traced to Othello, Washington. Deputies are looking for an older silver/grey Pontiac 4-door in the crime.
