MICA BAY, Idaho-- A wildfire burned 18 acres near Mica Bay along Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Firefighters said homes are no longer threatened.  The fire is now 100 percent contained. Crews say there are still tree stumps on fire and they will continue to monitor the area.

The Mica Kidd Island Fire District Cheif said they needed every single available resource for the three alarm fire. Helicopters flew above the fire to drop water from the bay onto the flames.

Several wildfire crews and Department of Lands Crews helped fight the blaze for hours.

Fire Managers believe the fire was caused by a person who lives in the area. They believe it may have been started by a campfire or bonfire.

Kootenai County said open burning is restricted but it's still legal to ligh recreational fires.
