SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- A 13-year-old boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a car on Halloween night.

It happened around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Appleway Boulevard and Dishman Mica Road.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says the boy was at fault in this crash. They say he was wearing a dark costume when he crossed the road against the green light.

The boy was banged up and disoriented after the wreck. He was not walking when medics arrived on scene. They transported the boy to the hospital and notified his parents a short time later.

The intersection was blocked off while police investigated. It was cleared just before 11 p.m.

The driver was not cited for the crash.
