SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Bomb squad technicians from Fairchild Air Force Base searched and cleared Central Valley High School on Wednesday following a bomb scare.

Students evacuated Central Valley around 10:00 a.m. when a threat was found on a bathroom wall. School staff evacuated the students outside. Rain forced those students to eventually move into a nearby church.

Administrators cancelled class just before 11 a.m. Parents were allowed to pick up their children. However, students were not allowed back into the Central Valley parking lots. Students can return to campus between 2:15 and 3:30 p.m. to retrieve their vehicles.

Students can return to Central Valley classrooms on Thursday morning to retrieve any items left inside the building.

All after school activities and practices have been cancelled with the exception of the 6:30 p.m. boys’ soccer game and the production of the Little Shop of Horrors at 7:30 p.m. The activities hotline is updated at 228-5233.

Central Valley administrators said that bomb sniffing dogs were walking through the school to determine if the threat was credible.
