NORTH SPOKANE-- The Spokane Police Department Bomb Squad investigated a suspicious suitcase in North Spokane.

Spokane Police said a suitcase was strapped to the Kardong Bridge. Crews were on scene near the Gonzaga University Campus and Centennial Trail.

A robot was deployed around 12:30 p.m. to assist in investigating the suitcase. A bomb specialist suited up and was also brought in.

Officials determined the suitcase was filled with personal items and was not a threat.

Tony Dell told KREM 2 News the bag belongs to him. He is homeless and said he left the bag on the bridge to go use a computer.

Streets in the area were closed during the investigation. The Riverpoint Campus was closed to vehicles during the situation, but no classes were canceled.
