PEND OREILLE COUNTY, Wash. -- Officials found the body of a man in a mountainous area of Pend Oreille County.
United States Border Patrol Agents conducted snowmobile training just northeast of Sullivan Lake on Thursday, January 19th when they discovered a man’s body. They notified the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office and worked together to recover the body from the remote area via snowmobiles.
Deputies say they found the body of a 61-year-old Hispanic man from Los Angeles, California. They will not release his name until his next of kin has been notified of his death.
Deputies say the evidence on scene shows the man left his vehicle on foot and walked into the remote area. Preliminary autopsy results indicate the man died from hypothermia.
