KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho—A tip lead authorities to a body on Friday in rural Kootenai County.
The uncovered body was found in the Coeur d’Alene National Forest area surrounding Fernan Lake. The body was found about 15 feet off Fernan Lake Road in thick weeds and bushes.
Law enforcement at the scene said the male’s body is linked to a missing person’s case out of Spokane. Kootenai County Major Crimes got a call from Spokane Major Crime early Friday morning. They are working together to find out what happened.
Spokane Police received a tip about a male’s body being in the area. Not long after the search started, officials found an uncovered body.
Police are investigating the connection it has to one or more of their cases.
Authorities believe the body has been there for a while.
Officials will be on scene for about ten hours Friday investigating the scene.
