GRAND COULEE, Wash. -- The Barker Canyon Complex fires near Grand Coulee are now 79 percent contained.
Together, the Barker Canyon Fire and the Leahy Fire have burned close to 92,000 acres.
Firefighters continue to suppress the fire and mop up the damage. They hope to have it fully contained by Sept. 19.
Lightning sparked the fire on Sept. 8, and wind spread the flames over the following days. No one was injured in the fire, but it did rip through two Grand Coulee Dam power stations.
