Bank robbed near Gonzaga University

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police responded to a robbery at a Banner Bank branch inside the Safeway near Gonzaga University Friday morning.  The Safeway is located at the intersection of East Mission Avenue and North Hamilton Street.

There was no immediate word how much was stolen or if there were any injuries.  Police launched a search for the suspected bank robber.  He was described as an unshaven white male wearing a black t-shirt. Police said the suspect fled on foot.

Major Crimes Detectives from both the city and county were called to the scene.  Both units were investigating whether the same supsect involved in two other bank robberies in August is responsible for the robbery at Safeway Friday morning.  Police identified that man as 40-year-old Scott Ruziecki
