SPOKANE-- It is a challenge to keep snow supplies on the shelves when storms hit one after another. KREM 2 News checked in with a few stores that say the most coveted supplies are snow blowers and shovels.
Lines at the General Store remain at three or four customers deep. People are loading up on supplies for imminent snow storms.
Clothing such as snow boots are in stock and in high demand. Customers say in years past they’ve come in later in the season, but this year they’re trying to stay on top of the bad weather.
November wasn’t early enough for one couple looking for ice melt. All the Abrahamsons found were a couple of bags and rows of empty shelves. They decided to make due until a huge shipment comes in Tuesday. They even tried using regular salt the other day but it only lasted a couple of hours.
Manager Jeff Nusbaum says there is plenty of clothing in stock, but almost every sled is gone. Nusbaum says with the huge sale over the weekend, he is surprised they still have shovels left.
Tuesday he is expecting a full truck of snowblowers, sleds, shovels, and winter gear to arrive.
Other stores are out of snow boots, some out of shovels, but most received shipments twice a week, so they don’t expect their shelves to be bare for too much longer.
