Family dog killed in North Spokane fire

SPOKANE, Wash. -- A fire broke out at a duplex near Marietta and Denver early Monday morning.

Fire crews said the flames completely destroyed the home's carport and kitchen.

Neighbors said they woke up to fire engines Monday morning. They said they are not surprised this happened. They said they saw strange activity at the home Sunday evening.

Neighbors said this is the second fire they have seen at this duplex.

No one was inside at the time of the fire. Fire crews said a dog was killed in the fire.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
