SPOKANE VALLEY--A dispute between two men Monday quickly escalated and led to one of them being slashed with a box cutter.
It happened at an apartment in the 300 block of South Elizabeth in Spokane Valley.
The owner of the apartment began arguing with another man who’d been staying with him for about a week with another female.
The argument became heated and the owner of the apartment grabbed a box cutter and slashed the other man in the abdomen, leaving a 4 inch gash. The victim also received several minor puncture wounds to the face.
The victim was taken to the hospital. The severity of his injuries is unknown.
Police on scene say it’s likely the two were arguing over drugs.
Police say the suspect is being cooperative. He could be facing 2nd degree assault charges.
Authorities had been by the apartment several times earlier in the day on reports of disputes between the two.
The investigation is ongoing.
