SPOKANE-- Mead School officials sent out emergency alerts after an alleged forced entry by a door to door sales man in the area.

Around 2:15 it was alleged that a black male posing as a door-to-door salesman forced entry into a young woman home near Yale and Day Mount Spokane Rd.

Officials told KREM 2 that the incident was called into the Mead School District and due to the proximity, the school district decided to send an alert to parents.  This is the first time the district used its new parent notification system, which sends a voicemail, text and email to parents.

Deputies said the incident involved a man approaching an adult woman and making an inappropriate comment. There was no forced entry.

Deputies contacted the man involved, and determined there wasn't enough to charge him with a crime.
