KOOTENAI COUNTY, ID -- The Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort and Hotel is undergoing a major transformation.

The tribe is expanding business and that also means they are expanding their staff by more than 150 jobs.  The casino expansion is creating a big economic boost in Kootenai County. It plans on adding a spa, restaurants, and a new hotel.

Kelleye Heydon was recently hired as the new spa manager. She came to Kootenai County from Seattle but went to school at Eastern Washington University. She says she is happy to have found a job in the Inland Northwest. Another man flew out from Portland to apply for a management job at the new facility.

Construction is expected to be complete this spring. The additional jobs created will mean the casino resort will employ about 1,150 people.

There will be a job fair Thursday at the events center at the Coeur d’Alene Casino from 10 am to 2pm.
