SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A Spokane man who killed his estranged wife, then impersonated her on MySpace to dupe family members, faces about 18 years in prison when he's sentenced next month. Uriah Brosnan has pleaded guilty to the Jan. 28 beating death of Becky Brosnan and the plea deal calls for him to serve 220 months.
Becky's stepmother is grateful the Brosnans' children, ages 6 and 11, won't have to experience a trial. Court documents say the Brosnans were married about 10 years before a contentious divorce sparked a child custody dispute that led to Becky Brosnan's killing.
For nearly two weeks after she disappeared, Uriah Brosman sent text messages from Becky's phone and updated her Myspace page to make it appear that she was alive but wanted to be left alone. Her stepmother grew suspicious and called the police.
Brosnan is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 14 in Spokane County Superior Court.
