PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A waterlogged hillside near Interstate 84 has given way in northeast Portland, taking with it a large section of a commercial building's foundation. Emergency fire crews responded to the scene Monday afternoon. The mudslide left the rest of the structure perched precariously above nearby freight train tracks and MAX light rail tracks.

There were no reports of injuries. A sign on the building advertised it as available for rent.

Fire Lt. Allen Oswalt says it appears that water had been running in the building for some time. The water weakened the foundation, causing the building to sag and break away.

No rail or freeway traffic was affected by the slide. There was no immediate damage estimate.
