With a microphone next to a laptop computer speaker, the courtroom heard Stark's frantic voice.
Immediately she tells the operator that she shot her estranged husband Dale Stark. In between screams from Stark, the operator asks her where the gun is and Stark replies it's in her hand.
Other evidence that was presented to the jurors included pictures of bullet holes, a purse, and the shirt that Dale was wearing at the time of the murder.
When police arrived at the murder scene, they say Dale was dead on the kitchen floor. His torn shirt shows where three bullets struck him in the back. A handgun is laying nearby. It looks like a violent scene but one officer says it'6 s too organized.
Investigators say the restraining order Shellye says she served Dale is neatly stacked near her purse. They also say there was also a knife on the kitchen counter which Shellye claimed Dale could have grabbed to kill her. The only food nearby is an uncut onion.
Based on experience, police say Shellye manipulated the scene before they arrived.
