COEUR D’ALENE-- Coeur d’Alene Police, Post Falls Police and Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Detectives continue to work together to apprehend and arrest the suspects responsible for the recent rash of daytime residential burglaries throughout Kootenai County.
Since August 2012, law enforcement agencies in Kootenai County have investigated over 80 daytime residential burglaries. In the past two weeks, police have arrested five offenders and obtained arrest warrants for two others.
On Wednesday a Felony Warrant was issued for William E. Fesmire age 21 for three counts of Burglary occurring in the Echo Glenn Lane area of Coeur d’Alene including the theft of over $14,000 in cash. Fesmire lived in this neighborhood and appeared to watch the homes for opportune times to burglarize his neighbors.
Fesmire’s accomplice, Brad W. Whisner age 20 was arrested Tuesday on two counts of burglary and was taken into custody.
On Thursday William M. Schwald age 22 was arrested at Spokane International Airport on a Kootenai County warrant charging Schwald with Felony Burglary occurring in the 7th St area of Coeur d’Alene.
Schwald’s accomplice, Steven R. Keniston age 22 was arrested Wednesday on burglary charges and was taken into custody.
On Wednesday James E. Porter age 23 was arrested by Post Fall Police for two counts of
Burglary and one count of Grand Theft. Thursday a Felony Burglary warrant was issued for Porter’s accomplice, Samuel Z. Fetterhoff age 22.
On Wednesday burglary offender Melissa A. Roos age 20 was arrested on charges of Burglary and Criminal Conspiracy in relation to criminal activities involving both William Schwald and James Porter.
Many of the crimes have been committed to support drug addictions (meth, heroin, oxy) according to police.
As of Friday law enforcement agencies throughout Kootenai County were working together to charge those responsible for the crimes, locate the stolen property and return property to the victims.
