SPOKANE-- Construction on 29th Spokane’s South Hill has been postponed until next year.
Crews began working on 29th Street in July and in August the city announced work would go longer than expected.
Construction began to fix damaging potholes. Crews will not begin Phase 2 this summer.
Despite the necessity, road closures have been difficult for neighbors, nearby businesses and hundreds of drivers.
The portion from Grand to Bernard was scheduled to be completed by the end of August. Gas and water lines caused crews some trouble. That stretch of road is set to reopen mid-October.
The intersection at 29th and Bernard will open Tuesday.
