Soldiers killed by friendly fire return to US

The remains of five US servicemen killed by friendly fire Monday were returned to the US Thursday.

The special forces soldiers were taking heavy rocket fire from the Taliban in Southern Afghanistan when they called for air support. The airstrike ended up hitting them instead.

Amoung the soldiers killed was Sprague, Washington Native Justin Clouse. Details of his funeral are still being worked out and are expected to be finalized soon.

His family has set up a fund at US bank called the “Justin Clouse Donation Fund.” Donations can be made at any US Bank.

People in Sprague have planned a candlelight vigil for Thursday night at 11:30 at the Chevron.
