SPOKANE, Wash. -- One of Spokane’s own was selected for a competitive and prestigious Air Force program.

Air Force officials said Senior Airman Matt Little will begin the Enlisted to Medical Degree Preparatory Program in the summer of 2014 at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. This will start his journey to become an Air Force doctor.

When he finishes the pre-med program, he will train to become an Air Force officer and then he plans to attend the U.S. military’s medical school.

Little graduated from White River High School in 2005 and continued his education at Central Washington University where he studied accounting and exercise science.

He also spent three years working as a volunteer firefighter with the Spokane County Fire District 8.
