SPOKANE, Wash. -- Authorities said the thieves that hit three separate fast food restaurants in the Spokane area got away with hundreds of dollars. Here is the breakdown of what the suspects are accused of taking:

•    McDonald’s on W. Wellesley: $397
•    Dairy Queen on W. Francis: $980
•    Wendy’s on Newport Highway: $150

The amounts totaled $1,527.

Officers arrested Thomas T. Craigen, 32, and Jessica M. Schwartzenberger, 23, for the robberies Thursday night. Police said they believe Schwartzenberger was the getaway driver. The female suspect told authorities that they needed the money for diapers for their baby.

However, Craigen told detectives he committed the robberies to fund his drug addiction.

The McDonald’s near Belt and Wellesley was robbed Thursday night around 6:00 p.m.

A third suspect, 28-year-old Sean Lee Gilbert, was also arrested in connection with the McDonalds robbery. Police booked Gilbert into Spokane County Jail on probable cause for one count of 1st Degree Robbery

Officials said the suspect ran up to the drive-thru window and fled in a silver pick-up. Police said a witness in the McDonald’s drive-thru called police with a vehicle description and followed the car as long as they could.

Authorities said a female was driving the silver pick-up with a baby inside. A man inside the car fled from the car and was chased by police. It is not clear if the baby was in the car when the robbery took place. Police finally caught the suspect near an apartment complex along Country Homes near Francis. They said witnesses helped identify the suspect.
