EWAN, Wash. -- A woman used a boat to visit her flooded home in Ewan, Washington on Wednesday.
Melting snow on Wednesday brought massive amounts of runoff and flooding to low-lying areas.
A woman living along Highway 23 used her boat to get in her front door. She found close to eight inches of standing water. The house next door suffered much of the same damage.
“People who live in Ewan have said it hasn’t been this bad for maybe 100 years, not like this,” said Sandy Honn-Reudiger.
The community is focusing on moving forward and cleaning up. One woman said that while she is devastated by the damage, she also feels blessed to have friends helping her pick up the pieces.
There have not been any estimates as to how much damage has been done. The priority is to dry things out.
