SANDPOINT, Idaho -- A restaurant in Sandpoint was destroyed after it caught fire early Thursday morning.
Sandpoint Police said a bystander called in the fire at A & P Bar and Grill on North 1st Avenue near Main Street around 9:00 a.m. The entire fire department was called to the fire, including off-duty and volunteer firefighters.
Officials said the fire was knocked down quickly but hot spots took a while to get rid of. The scene was not cleared until around 12:30 p.m.
Authorities said the building was a total loss and nearby businesses were not affected.
Crews said the cold weather caused several hose lines to freeze up and left ice all over the area where crews were fighting the fire.
No one was injured. The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire.
Authorities said the cause of the fire is under investigation and nothing looked suspicious.
