SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police said a driver was booked into jail after a three car crash in North Spokane Thursday night.

The crash happened near Cozza Drive and Nevada Street.  Authorities said the drivers of a red Honda and blue Mitzubishi were traveling too fast northbound on Nevada when one of the speeding cars clipped a southbound Ford Explorer making a left turn.  All three cars ended up wrecking.

The driver of the Ford Explorer suffered a sore leg.  A baby in the vehicle was reportedly okay.  The drivers of the Honda and Mitsubishi were injured.  Crews had to extricate one of them from the wreckage.

The 19 year-old-driver of the Mitsubishi was sent to the hospital with what were considered serious injuries Thursday night.  His condition improved overnight, however, and police later booked him into jail.

Police said the driver of the red Honda was still in the hospital Friday but once he was released, he, too, could face charges.

Authorities said both drivers possibly faced vehicular assault charges.
