SPOKANE, Wash. -- A man who surfs Craigslist every day found some disturbing images in the rants and raves section and notified the Spokane Police Department Wednesday morning.

Randal Johnson said he finds humor in the usual Craigslist posts but was disturbed by what he saw that morning. He said he found inappropriate pictures of a girl who appeared to be in her early teens in one of two pictures.  He said the post was title, “Is this child porn?”

The post was accompanied by a paragraph saying the poster found these images on her husband’s computer.

“I thought it was child porn. I thought I did the right thing by telling police, but I’m still waiting to hear back from them,” said Johnson.

An automatic reply from the Spokane Police Department stated he would get a response in three to five days.

KREM 2 News looked into why the response time takes so long. The Spokane Police’s account is not monitored 24-hours a day, but Crime Check is monitored. If he had submitted the tip there the response would have been immediate.

The case is being investigated by sex crimes detectives with the Spokane Police Department.
