PULLMAN, Wash. -- People gathered at Martin Stadium Friday for a Punt, Pass and Kick competition.
A group of WSU Sports Management majors created the event into help raise money for Team Gleason. It is inspired by WSU alum Steve Gleason who suffers from Lou Gehrig’s disease. This is the first competition at the university.
Gleason’s mother, Gail, attended the event and said the support is overwhelming.
“It just amazes me t hat people are willing to help and be so creative in coming up with so many different fun ways to raise money,” said Gail.
Winners of the competition get bragging rights and their name published in the school’s newspaper. Prizes were also raffled off.
