SPOKANE, Wash -- People are starting to use Tuffy’s Trail again after a woman was stabbed to death while walking her dog there in September 2012.
Police said Sharlotte McGill was murdered by Avondra Graham on the trail. Graham pled guilty in court Thursday and will serve 10 years in jail.
A woman who was walking along the trail Thursday said she had just recently started going back. She said she remembers McGill’s murder and brought flowers to her memorial along the trail.
“I didn’t use this area for a long time. I probably didn’t come down here for almost a year,” said walker, Dodi Hinckley.
Another woman biking on the trail said she would never go on the trail by herself. She said she has seen “scary” people on the trail and that Graham going to jail does not change this.
“No, I don’t think so. I think there are enough other people that could cause you harm. Maybe not a murderer, but other kinds of harm,” said bike rider, Marilyn Reimann.
