SPOKANE, Wash. -- Officials say a woman in a wheelchair was hit by a car at the intersection of N. Wall and W. Sprague around 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Police said an elderly man was making a left hand turn from Sprague onto Wall and did not realize the woman was in the crosswalk. They said the man was in a van and could not see the woman in her wheelchair.
Authorities said the woman fell over in her wheelchair. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police cited the driver for an expired driver’s license and failing to yield to a pedestrian.
