SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -- The Spokane County Fair began Friday and organizers expect a strong turnout.
On Friday, organizers said around 13,000 people should come through the fairgrounds. Over the years attendance at the fair has been consistent. Organizers said weather and the economy have an impact but they usually get a good turnout.
The fair dates back to the 1800’s. People headed to the fair said the mix of rides and food is a big reason they keep coming back.
The fair always falls toward the end of the summer but the weather doesn’t always cooperate.
The fair runs from Friday through September 15 at the Spokane County Fairgrounds.
