PULLMAN, Wash. -- Three hybrid buses are being introduced on the Washington State University campus for the first day of school on August 19.
Pullman Transit received a $1,512,000 federal grant in 2011 to purchase the three hybrid buses for $630,000 each. A new grant of $500,000 will be used to convert an older bus to an electric vehicle.
The buses will be wrapped in a Go Cougs design with a twist of green. The buses will be a cleaner and quieter way to travel.
Pullman Transit is the most used alternative transportation option available to WSU students, staff and faculty. Last year, it provided about 1.4 million rides.
