NEZ PERCE COUNTY, Idaho -- The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a boat accident that happened Sunday afternoon.
Authorities said Jeff Pollilo was operating a boat at Shovel Creek Rapids on the Snake River with five passengers on board when he hit a rock. Three people were thrown from the boat and at least four of the passengers were injured.
Pollilo and a couple of the passengers tried to enter several nearby cabins to call for help. The occupants of the boat were picked up by a passing boat and transported to Heller Bar where they used their cars to take themselves to the hospital.
Two of those occupants were treated and release and a third was admitted for observation at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Facility.
Anyone who witnessed or has additional information about the accident is asked to contact Cpl. Florence at the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.
