BOISE – Someone’s holiday season could be a little bit happier after Saturday’s Powerball drawing produced a $200,000 winner from Idaho.
The winning numbers for Saturday night’s $66.8 million Powerball draw were 12, 13, 14, 35, 41 and the Powerball was 29. The winning ticket matched all five numbers but not the Powerball.
Idaho Lottery Director Jeff Anderson said that people should check their tickets carefully because often people think if they don’t have the Powerball, they don’t have a winner and that is not the case.
Idaho Lottery spokesman David Workman said the winning ticket was sold in Benewah County in North Idaho. There are about eight retailers in that county that sell lottery tickets. Workman says the last time someone in Idaho won a Powerball prize this big was back in May 2009.
There were a total of 6,885 Idaho winners from Saturday’s Powerball draw, including the $200,000 winner.
Anderson said that the winner should sign the back of their ticket immediately.
The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night’s draw is an estimated $77 million.
