The soldier from Hailey being held captive by the Taliban tried to make an escape according to a report from the the Daily Beast, an affiliate of Newsweek magazine.
The report is that in late August or early September Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl jumped from a first-floor window of a mud-brick house in Pakistan.
The article says Bergdahl successfully avoided capture for three days and two nights.
Colonel Timothy Marsano, the spokesman for the Bergdahl family, told the Daily Beast that "Obviously a mother wants to hear that her son is well," He said she was proud to hear "that he fought off his captors."
